Getting to Nicosia

To ensure a smooth entry into Cyprus, please use legal ports and airports. Flying into an airport in the “TRNC” is considered illegal and should be avoided. We kindly ask all participants to adhere to this requirement in order to avoid any potential legal complications.

The main airport on the island is located in the city of Larnaka, approximately a 45-minute drive from Nicosia. A smaller airport is situated in Paphos, which is around a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Nicosia.

There are shuttle buses to and from the airport to the entrance of Nicosia.

You can find the timetable for the bus here.

Best Things to Do in Nicosia

Cyprus is situated in southern eastern Europe in the Mediterranean Sea.
The first known settlement in Cyprus, dated as early as 9,000 years ago on the southern coast of Khirokitia has been under Assyrian, Egyptian, and Persian domination and was at one point a part of the Roman Empire.

Now it is more recently known as The Republic of Cyprus and was founded in 1960. As a result, Cyprus has been influenced by these periods and different countries making it a deeply enriched country with a very ancient history and heritage whilst also being able to retain its identity. This is shown not only through their culture but through both man-made products such as their food and wines, as well as natural beauty. Cyprus also has a lot of mineral wealth.
