Description
Today schools bring together students, teachers, and families with different cultural backgrounds, languages… and the different ways of communicating are no exception either.
This diversity can surely enrich school life, but it can also generate misunderstandings and tensions, affecting teacher-to-teacher collaboration, students’ inclusion, and families’ engagement if as an issue it is not addressed with proper care and awareness.
This course addresses this emerging need and is designed for educators and school leaders who want to strengthen their ability to lead in culturally diverse educational settings.
The focus will be on what intercultural leadership really is and how it’s shaped as a practical competence: from the ability to communicate across differences, build trust, respond to biases, to the creation of school environments where diversity is recognized as a resource to build on, rather than an obstacle.
Throughout the course, participants will explore key ideas related to intercultural communication, cultural identity, and leadership in diverse school realities.
They will be invited to reflect on their own assumptions, communication styles, and decision-making habits, and examine how these can affect teacher collaboration, student inclusion, family relationships, and the overall school climate.
Through case studies, role plays, group discussions, and reflective activities, participants will have the chance to work on real leadership situations linked to intercultural misunderstandings, conflicting values, and inclusion challenges.
This will be the perfect chance for them to analyze concrete situations taking place in their own school contexts and learn how to develop responses that are realistic, respectful, and educationally sound.
By the end of the course, participants will have developed greater cultural self-awareness, stronger intercultural communication skills, and more confidence in addressing diversity-related challenges in their institutions.
They will leave with practical strategies to support collaboration, inclusion, and a more positive school climate in multicultural educational environments.
