Teaching French as a Foreign Language: A Hands-On Approach

Description

Concept by Mathieu Delamarre

Targeted to B1 speakers or above. Read more »

At the B1 CEFR level, learners comprehend the main points of clear texts on familiar subjects and handle most situations while traveling. They can produce simple connected texts, expressing experiences, opinions, and plans in a concise manner.

Please note: The course is entirely delivered in French.

Are you a teacher of French as a foreign language?

Would you like to update and improve your practical approach to teaching to make it more interesting and engaging for your students?

Then this course is for you!

Participants will discuss how to design group activities to immerse their learners into the world of Francophones, thereby including references not only to the French from France!

Moreover, they will discover how to use digital tools and visual materials alongside with their textbooks while keeping an orientation toward authentic language material and resources.

Participants will also learn to make their students more independent and collaborative. Most of the course activities will deal with collaboration and creativity to deepen student engagement and curiosity.

Finally, the course will introduce and deepen participants’ knowledge of the French examination system, including DELF and new kinds of evaluations, feedback, and assessments.

The courses are designed for teachers and future teachers (from either the public or the private sectors) who teach French as a foreign language. The course is also suitable for experienced teachers who want to refresh their teaching methodologies and aptitude on the job.

By its end, participants will be able to design and provide new activities in their classrooms, alongside their textbooks. They will feel ready to use and adapt technology and digital tools during their courses and get an overview of French cultures all over the world.
