Designed by Europass Italian Language School, located in the heart of Florence and with more than 30 years of experience teaching Italian to international learners, this course combines proven expertise with practical and innovative teaching methods.
It offers a comprehensive approach to Italian language teaching.
Participants will learn how to design group activities to immerse their learners in the Italian culture, incorporating authentic everyday life content and regional language varieties.
Furthermore, they will discover how to integrate digital tools and visual materials in order to support diverse learning styles and boost student motivation.
Finally, participants will gain insights into the Italian language certification system, including CILS and CELI exams, based on Europass’s experience as an official examination center.
By the end of the course, participants will have acquired confidence and will be equipped with new insights, ready-to-use activities, and a deeper knowledge of the Italian language and culture.

The course will help the participants to:

Tentative schedule
Day 1 – Course introduction
- Introduction to the course and the Academy;
- Introduction to the host city and the week’s cultural activities;
- Icebreaker activities.
Teaching a new topic: routines to start a new class
- Burning questions to recall the subject;
- Setting goals in class: connect students’ needs and questions to the syllabus.
Day 2 – The creative classroom in Italian
- Creativity: discovering the Italian language through pictures and sounds;
- Multiple activities: picture analysis, listening.
Day 3 – The collaborative classroom in Italian
- Creating teams: promote emotions and sharing experiences;
- Techniques and animations to deepen collaboration: learning stations, the role of the teacher before and during the class.
Day 4 – Let’s play in Italian
- Grammar starts with music on digital tools;
- Competition games;
- The listening part: deals with the most difficult activity in class;
- Creating your activities.
Day 5 – Evaluation, assessments, and feedback
- Projects and activities, presentations, and animations;
- Evaluations, assessments, and feedback;
- CILS and CELI exams;
- Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
- Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance.
Day 6 – Structured cultural activities
- Structured cultural activity(ies) according to the hosting location;
- Learning journal: individual written reflection on the course experience;
- Course reflection: self-reflection and review of course materials and resources.
