Description

A teacher’s voice does much more than just deliver information.

It can calm or activate a group, create attention, communicate confidence, express emotion, set boundaries, and build trust. In the classroom, how something is said often influences how students listen, respond, and relate to the teacher.

This course introduces participants to the concept of “Neurovocal Pedagogy”: an educational approach to voice, communication, and classroom presence.

While Neurovocal work is often associated with voice training and singing, this course aims to achieve a different goal and applies its basic principles to teaching.

The voice is explored as a professional and relational tool connected to intention, attention, emotion, breath, body awareness, and learning.

In fact, the whole method is based on the understanding that the voice is much more than a means of speaking. It is an expression of our inner state – our thoughts, emotions, intentions, and relationship with ourselves and others.

Participants will work with a simple communication sequence: intention, thought, emotion, breath, voice, word, and relationship.

Through this lens, they will reflect on how tone, rhythm, intensity, pauses, breathing, and vocal expression affect classroom communication, emotional climate, and teacher-student interaction.

Educators will learn how to combine voice awareness, pedagogy, psychology of communication, neuroscience-informed perspectives, and experiential learning.

They will take part in practical vocal, breathing, listening, movement, rhythm, and communication exercises to explore their own vocal habits and develop more conscious, healthy, and intentional voice use.

A central focus will always be on educational transfer. Participants will explore how to use the voice in everyday teaching situations: giving instructions, opening a lesson, managing transitions, calming a noisy group, encouraging participation, responding to tension, and creating a more attentive learning environment.

By the end of the course, participants will have developed greater awareness of their own voice and communication style.

They will leave with practical Neurovocal Pedagogy exercises and strategies to support presence, emotional awareness, active listening, and more effective classroom communication.
