This course will introduce participants to the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) within the Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) framework to create inclusive and supportive environments.
By learning these strategies, participants will be equipped to address diverse academic and behavioral needs while fostering engagement and achievement for all students in mainstream schools.
During the course, participants will explore how to:
Design universally accessible lessons using UDL principles to engage all learners;
Implement tiered academic and behavioral interventions within the MTSS framework to support all students, especially the ones who struggle;
Create classroom environments and routines that promote inclusion and positive behavior.
By the end of the course, participants will gain practical skills and strategies to reduce barriers to learning, foster positive classroom behaviors, and support student growth at all levels.
They will leave with the confidence to create inclusive, engaging classrooms that accommodate the unique needs of primary and secondary students, ensuring equitable opportunities for success.

Foundations of Inclusive Education
Understand the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) framework;
Explore how these frameworks support diverse academic and behavioral needs in primary and secondary education.
Day 2 – Universal strategies for engaging all learners (Tier 1)
Develop Tier 1 (universal) strategies for inclusive instruction and engagement;
Learn evidence-based strategies and techniques to address diverse learning needs.
Day 3 – Targeted and intensive supports (Tiers 2 & 3)
Implement targeted (Tier 2) and intensive (Tier 3) support for students with academic and behavioral challenges;
Use data to identify students in need and monitor progress.
Day 4 – Behavioral and social-emotional supports
Use proactive behavior management strategies to create positive classroom environments;
Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into teaching practices.
Day 5 – Designing inclusive classroom environments
Consolidate strategies for implementing UDL and MTSS frameworks in practice (design activities, lesson plans).
Day 6 – Course closure and cultural activities
Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;
Excursion and other external cultural activities.
