This course in Italian Language and Culture is for you! It will give you the chance to taste the real Italian language and dive into Italian culture, beyond academic versions or stereotypes.
Moreover, it will bring a gust of fresh air to your profession: by stepping into a student’s shoes, you will observe new methods and critically reassess your professional attitudes.
You will have the opportunity to attend language courses and seminars about Italian culture. The former includes 20-morning lessons tailored to your language competencies and needs. In the afternoon, you will take part in cultural activities, guided tours, and excursions related to Italian culture.
By the end of this course, you will have expanded your knowledge about the Italian language and culture by observing and absorbing authentic communication practices directly on the spot, supported by local professional tutors.

Tentative schedule
Day 1 – Course introduction & setting goals
Introduction to the course, the school, and the external week activities;
Presentations of the participants’ schools;
Identification of needs and goals for each participant and relevant populations.
Ice-breaking activities with simple Italian phrases;
Learning the Italian alphabet and pronunciation tips;
Basic greetings and classroom language.
Day 2 – Basic Italian grammar and conversation
Grammar: essere and avere in the present tense;
Vocabulary: numbers, family members, basic adjectives;
Speaking: introduce yourself, say where you’re from, talk about your family;
Pair and group work: simple dialogues and role-plays.
Day 3 – Talking about daily activities
Grammar: regular -are verbs in the present tense;
Vocabulary: daily routine verbs and time expressions;
Speaking: describe your day using simple sentences;
Pair and group work: interview a partner about their day.
Day 4 – Ordering food and asking for directions
Grammar: introduction to -ere and -ire verbs in the present tense;
Vocabulary: food and drink, menus, basic places in town;
Speaking: order at a bar or restaurant, ask where something is;
Pair and group work: role-play ordering and asking for directions.
Day 5 – Shopping and making plans
Grammar: simple use of volere, potere, dovere in the present tense;
Vocabulary: clothes, prices, days of the week;
Speaking: express what you want, need, or can do; practice shopping conversations;
Day 6 – Course closure and cultural activities
Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;
Excursion and other external cultural activities.
