Description
Intermediate Computer Proficiency required. Read more »
Intermediate computer proficiency courses are designed for individuals who already have good understanding of technology. Participants will build upon their skills by learning how to use a variety of resources, including learning apps, Microsoft 365 apps, and photo and video editing platforms.
As AIs continue to appear on the web and multiply their areas of expertise, it’s likely that students will encounter them more often in the future. It actually is very likely that we will all need to deal with the growing relevance of AI in many aspects of our lives, including future careers.
The situation certainly leaves us with many doubts about the future. These questions are likely relevant for teachers:
- What is my role in an AI-driven world?
- Can I use AI to improve student learning and well-being?
- How can I use AI to identify students who are struggling sooner and provide targeted support for them?
- Am I able to create more intelligent tutoring systems?
- How can I automate routine tasks such as grading with AI?
The course will explore how AIs can be used to answer these questions. It will help participants stay up to the minute with the latest technology trends and prepare their students for the future.
The course is designed for teachers of different subjects (e.g., STEAM, language, social science, and history) who want to incorporate artificial intelligence tools in their teaching methodologies.
Participants will learn how to leverage edTech apps and AI tools to create dynamic learning experiences that help students explore complex issues.
The course will be delivered through a combination of direct instruction, hands-on activities, and group discussions. Teachers will have the opportunity to explore AI-powered tools and resources and develop lesson plans integrating AI into their teaching practices.
Moreover, on each day, participants have a “discussion of the day” enabling them to put their knowledge into practice, share their ideas, and possibly develop collaborative projects among their schools.
By the end of the week, teachers will have a deep understanding of AI and how AI can be used to upgrade different subjects and will be equipped with the tools to create engaging and innovative AI-infused lessons for their students.
