The 5Es Instructional Model: Effective Teaching in Limited Time

Description

Concept by Cristina Salvatori

Secondary school teachers often face the challenge of engaging students effectively within limited one-hour class sessions.

This often leads to difficulties in maintaining student interest and delivering impactful lessons. The demand for practical and efficient teaching methods becomes crucial in addressing these challenges.

This course will introduce teachers to the powerful framework of the five “E”s:

  1. Engage
  2. Explore
  3. Explain
  4. Elaborate
  5. Evaluate

Throughout the week, participants will gain practical insights into applying this structured approach to teaching, enhancing their ability to create dynamic and effective lessons in concise one-hour sessions.

Every day will be divided into two parts: in the first part, the trainer will deliver 1-hour sessions on every E, exploring the importance of the element in an effecting learning session.

You will have the double benefit of learning more about these topics and observing the 5E framework in action.

In the second part of the day, we will work on making sure you have the tools you need to use the 5E framework in your lesson planning, exploring different and effective ways to use every E!

We will also explore how the latest Artificial intelligence tools can be an invaluable help for our new lesson planning strategy.

By the end of the course, participants will master the art of captivating students right from the beginning, infuse lessons with interactive and inquiry-based learning, deliver crystal-clear explanations, enrich content through diverse activities, and employ effective evaluation strategies.

These acquired competencies empower teachers not only to navigate the challenges of one-hour class sessions but also to elevate their overall teaching prowess.

They will also be confident in integrating Artificial intelligence into their lesson planning.

As a result, participants will leave the course with the confidence and skills needed to create engaging and impactful learning experiences for their students.
