An Ideathon is an intensive event designed to bring people together to work on problem-solving through creativity and collaboration.
It’s not just a brainstorming session; it’s a structured method where participants work as teams to generate a large number of ideas, analyze them, and ultimately select the most effective solution.
Ideathon comes in as a powerful tool that offers an opportunity to work with different perspectives and find solutions to problems.
This course aims to introduce educators to the ideathon concept and equip them with the skills to facilitate this process. Participants will learn how to turn problems into opportunities by generating lots of ideas with a group, organizing and analyzing the possible solutions, and finally reaching the most appropriate solution.
During the course, participants will experience the ideathon structure step by step. They will engage in creative thinking exercises, group discussions, collaborative project development, and hands-on activities.
They will leave the course with tools and activities that they can use in their classrooms to foster an innovative environment.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to spread a culture of creative problem-solving within their educational communities, empowering both themselves and their students to think innovatively.

Tentative schedule
Day 1 – Introduction to the course
Introduction to the course, the school, and the external week activities;
Icebreaker activities;
Presentations of the participants’ schools;
Fundamentals of creative problem solving and design thinking methodology.
Day 2 – Analyzing and addressing challenges
Common challenges faced in educational settings and how to solve them with these methodologies;
Data collection and analysis: using surveys, interviews, and observations;
Synthesizing insights to articulate the core issue.
Day 3 – From problem to solution
Reaching the problem: mapping the problem and refining the problem statement;
Generating innovative solutions from multiple perspectives;
Evaluating and selecting ideas: based on feasibility, innovation, and sustainability.
Day 4 – Developing and testing prototypes
Prototyping: Visualizing initial solution drafts;
Exploring ways to create a prototype;
Implementing critical feedback for refinement;
Sharing initial prototypes and receiving peer input.
Day 5 – Final prototypes and group feedback
Working on the final version of the prototypes;
Presentation preparation: effective storytelling and visual aids;
Showcasing solutions and receiving group feedback.
Day 6 – Course closure and cultural activities
Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;
Excursion and other external cultural activities.
