There are always some students in our classrooms who pick things up really fast, finish tasks easily, ask big questions, and often get bored. These are gifted learners.
It takes effort to identify and support gifted learners. Many educators need to be equipped with the essential tools to keep them engaged and meet their diverse needs in the classroom.
This course is designed to address the key knowledge for identifying gifted learners and practical methods for creating lessons that are engaging and challenging.
Participants will gain the confidence to build learning environments where gifted students feel motivated, not bored by gaining a deeper understanding of giftedness, creativity, and learning hands-on techniques.
Participants will work with case studies, explore classroom-ready techniques, and develop their own lesson plans. They’ll also learn how to integrate advanced content and critical thinking activities into the curriculum and lesson plans.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to recognize genuine signs of giftedness, apply effective intervention techniques, and eventually they will create inclusive classrooms that meet gifted learners’ needs.

Day 1 – Introduction to the course

Day 2 – Understanding gifted learners
Cognitive and socio-emotional needs of gifted learners;
Case studies on gifted student challenges;
Identification process and methods;
Educational strategies for gifted and talented students.
Day 3 – Practical techniques to foster problem-solving and critical thinking
Integrating higher-order thinking skills into lessons;
Techniques for fostering problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
Creative thinking exercises and practical applications;
Creating high-challenge activities for gifted students.
Day 4 – Differentiation strategies
Differentiation strategies for gifted learners;
Classroom applications of challenging activities;
Designing challenge-based lesson plans.
Day 5 – Lesson plan presentations and peer evaluation
Final presentations: lesson plans for gifted learners;
Sharing and evaluating individual lesson plans.
Day 6 – Course closure and cultural activities
Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;
