European Projects Dissemination

Dissemination’ is a keyword in the world of European projects, serving as the focal point of application forms for Erasmus grant funding.

A successful Dissemination Plan accounts for up to 30% of the European project’s final score.

But what exactly is Dissemination and why is it so important?
How is Dissemination different from Communication and Exploitation?
And what makes a successful Dissemination Plan?

Communication vs. Exploitation vs. Dissemination

What does Communication mean?

Communication means informing the general public of the impact and benefits of EU-funded activities, and of your project in particular. It is implemented from the outset of the project and continues throughout its entire duration until completed. Its main objectives are to inform others, the target audience is the broad public, outside the project’s possible community of beneficiaries.

What does Exploitation mean?

Exploitation refers either to the utilization of results for further research upon the project’s completion, or the developing, creating and marketing of a product or process. Its objectives include the effective use of the project results, by the project partners, other relevant stakeholders, or the general public. The target audiences are the project partners, other organization, and the public, depending on our project’s results and the target of potential end users.

What does Dissemination mean?

Dissemination is the public disclosure of the project results. The Dissemination Plan aims to transfer project knowledge and results for the benefit and training of other entities, thereby maximizing the impact of EU-funded activities. The target audience of the Dissemination Plan is any entity that may have an interest in using the project results (e.g. other schools, scientific community, business partners, and end users).

How to organize a successful Dissemination Plan

A successful Dissemination Plan involves the identification and definition of the project results, potential end users, and how to reach them. This will ensure that the project results are transferred and used by others, both inside and outside the partnership.
