Basic Computer Proficiency required. Read more »
Basic computer proficiency courses are designed for individuals who have limited experience with technology. Participants will learn fundamental skills such as navigating the web, and using basic programs.
We are increasingly witnessing a higher demand from society for students and teachers to demonstrate their digital skills.
There is a growing expectation to prove readiness for the new challenges that technology presents, to promote themselves, their work, and their passions, and to showcase their ability to adapt and innovate.
This course will introduce participants to a more conscious and purposeful approach to the internet, teaching them how to fully utilize the possibilities a website offers.
It will help and teach you techniques to promote courses and school materials, to interact with parents and students autonomously by creating repositories of your work, and to prove and improve your digital skills.
During the course, participants will work with a pre-installed version of WordPress to build a solid foundation.
They will learn how to install and activate plugins, choose and apply free themes from the WordPress repository, and explore the basic functionalities of the platform.
Participants will also create, publish, and edit pages, gaining hands-on experience in managing website content.
Furthermore, they will learn about user roles, how to add and manage media, and how to modify the website’s appearance using built-in WordPress tools.
By the end of the course, participants will have gained the essential skills needed to manage a WordPress site.
They will be able to confidently navigate the WordPress dashboard, customize a website using existing themes and plugins, and effectively manage content.
These foundational skills will prepare them to handle a basic WordPress site independently, making them capable of maintaining a personal or even a small school website.
Note: This is a beginner-level course so no previous requirements are required.
